CS Woods hand crafted the Platte River conference table from four consecutive cut black walnut slabs. The slabs were butterfly matched and inverted. The live edge creates the banks of a natural river feature running down the full 26’ length of the table.

For custom woodworks, the specific wood properties, texture, color, and form are of utmost importance. Most of these attributes are genetically determined by the tree species. However, significant variation occurs within each species as a result of the environmental and growth conditions.

CS Woods locally sourced a lightning struck, dead standing, high altitude Engelmann Spruce, that became the foundation for this fifty two foot table. This log table was one of 18 tables we competed for the same space, including a twenty six foot inverted river table out of black walnut and fourteen live edge conference tables out of elm.

Collector’s Specialty Woods crafted a custom conference table for Knight Piésold from two end matched 26 foot claro walnut slabs with lit handmade art glass center branding piece and custom built smart bases with technology integration. The natural void at the center of the table, that was created by the branching of the tree, became an inspiration and branding icon.

Forty years of service and still fabulous! This wood has traveled up and down the Colorado Front Range for decades. A reclaimed product that could tell you tales. Federal regulations limit the use of a railcar to 40 years, but this product has decades more to give.
